It has been my pleasure to have practiced orthodontics for the past 30 years, specializing in myofunctional and airway-centered orthodontic treatment. It is a true privilege to be a part of such an important time in my patients’ lives. I love watching exceptional kids grow into exceptional teens and adults who feel beautiful and confident with their smiles.
I knew from a young age that I wanted to be of service to people, to help people have self-confidence and feel better about themselves. There seemed no better career than orthodontics to accomplish my goal!
I attended the University of Western for my Doctorate of Dental Surgery, followed by my orthodontic certification from the University of Rochester, New York. I completed my formal education at Hamilton General Hospital for my orthodontic internship.
About a decade ago, I started looking at alternatives to the traditional approach of waiting until a child was older and pulling teeth to make room for braces and straight teeth. I did extensive research on the benefits of myofunctional and airway orthodontics, which has been practiced in more than 35 countries for more than 50 years. Its primary focus is on growing the mouth to accommodate the teeth, and it has become the focus of my practice ever since.
In my spare time, I enjoy cottage country and I am the mom to horses, llamas, rescue dogs and cats, and an endless amount of wildlife. When I’m not on the farm, I enjoy scuba diving and hiking in the great outdoors.
